The most dynamic view of the Alps must be the scene of a morning glow (Morgen-rot in germany), especially of the Mt.Matterhorn. The scene can be watched at Zermatt, the base of the mountain. I have ever been there twice and happily met the spectacles. In this summer, my son and his family including his wife and his twin children, nine-year-old elementary school boy and girl, have visited there and got this fantastic picture.
Richard Strauss's Alpine Symphony begins with a gradually declining tune played on the tutti, or the full orchestration, which represents the descending lower border of the morning glow according to the rising sun. The passage is one of the most realistic description throughout the panoramic symphony.
